All the wars and social crises where weapons are present, they cause real humanitarian disasters to the populations that are involved or are in the geographic area of the conflict.
But they also cause a lot of contamination since bombs, bullets, ammunition of all kinds and vehicles such as tanks, helicopters, airplanes, submarines, ships use huge amounts of Fossil fuels that generate millions of tons of CO2.
In addition, the explosions of bombs, grenades and shootings emit large amounts of polluting materials and in some cases have small amounts of radioactive materials that spread through the environment and then affect the health of the survivors.
So war not only destroys human life but also the the environment in the present and in some cases totally ruins the future due to the terrible destruction of ecosystems.
Wars produce a carbon footprint enormous that is later difficult to remedy due to the severity of the damage. Armed conflicts will never be ecological as they will never be beneficial to humanity.
The countries that suffered short or long armed conflicts have serious problems of air, water, and land pollution and destruction of all kinds of natural resources, which makes the survival of the communities that are there very difficult.
Peace is the friend of the planet and war is the enemy of it, since the damage they cause is sometimes impossible to calculate and they worsen existing environmental problems.
There will never be a good and ecological war, so it is vital that conflict resolution by means of weapons is avoided, both internally and externally, since it not only affects people but also ecosystems, flora, fauna, etc. of which we all need to live.
Dialogue, mediations, national or international law, among other instruments are adequate to solve problems, but not weapons.
