It seems that everything was written before the solar industry, since with each of the new reports that are emerging continues to increase its growth, as indicated in a report published by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA).
The solar industry has installed 2.501 megawatts of PV in the second quarter of 2016 in the United States, bringing a total capacity of 31,6 gigawatts and making that quarter the best for the industry. There is now enough solar installed to power more than 6,2 million American homes and reduce carbon emissions by 37 million metric tons each year.
A new solar energy installation was completed every 82 seconds in the first half of 2016, which is equal to more than 1.000 installations every day. This frequency is what has made a total of 1,1 million systems based on solar energy currently in the United States, which took 40 years to achieve, for a total of 2018 million in 2.
The rest of what remains for the year is also very positive. The industry awaits add 13,9 GW of new capacity, which would be a growth rate of 85% over the previous year. 4 GW of capacity was added in the first half of 2016, but the industry will be able to add close to 10 GW in the last six months of the year, which is 34 percent more than installed in all of 2015, a year record.
