The Forestalia group once again swept the renewables auction carried out by the Government last May, with the award of 1.200 megawatts (MW) over 3.000 offered.
The same happened in January of last year, when it took more than 400 to 700 MW. Then he was branded as selling at a "loss". Now, a little more of the same, although the competitors they were already advised of their intentions and few arguments to the contrary could be used when the Aragonese group arrived backed by General Electric as a technological partner.
In total, the Aragonese has assigned 1.500 MW of wind capacity between both tenders and has an installed capacity of 277,5 MW in said community, distributed in 13 wind farms.
The 'macro auction' of renewables put 2.000 MW into play, expandable to 3.000 MW if the auction result offered competitive prices, as indicated by the Energy Ministry. In fact, allocated blocks exceed the 2.000 megawatts discussed above.
Apart from Forestry, other companies have also won several blocks. For example Gamesa confirm it would have won a 206 MW block. For its part, according to industry sources Gas Natural Fenosa it has gained around 600 MW. Enel Green Power Spain -a subsidiary of Endesa-, would have been awarded 500 MW. However, IberdrolaMeanwhile, it would not have achieved any of the blocks for which it has bid.
New Auction
The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, announced a few days ago that he has started the procedures to launch a new auction of renewable energies for 3.000 megawatts (MW) within the framework of the required energy transition to fight climate change, which he has defined as "the great battle".
Rajoy has made this announcement in the framework of the inauguration of the debate days 'Spain, together for the climate', in which for two days political groups, scientists, companies, NGOs and other interested parties will meet to lay out the bases of the future law on climate change and energy transition.

The Forestalia Group was born in Zaragoza in 2011, the result of a long business career previous in the promotion of renewable energies, especially in energy crops and wind energy since 1997.

On January 14, 2016, the Forestalia Group was the largest winner of the auction of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism for the allocation of the specific remuneration scheme to new facilities for the production of electricity from wind and biomass technology. In wind energy, the Forestalia Group was awarded 300 MW, of the 500 MW auctioned; and in biomass, it obtained 108,5 MW of biomass, out of the 200 MW auctioned.

Family origin of the Group
The Jorge Group is among the five main companies in the Spanish pig sector, after having developed an incessant export activity, that represents more than 60% of its turnover, which exceeds 700 million euros. Of the total exports, 70% are destined for China, which is why Samper got to know the market in that country and was able to enter into negotiations with Gedi, the partner who accompanied him in the first electricity auction.
