Photovoltaics will account for 10% of global generation by 2030

ANPIER

Yesterday there were conferences in Madrid with ANPIER in which numerous international experts analyzed the European energy model of the future and the role of renewables, especially photovoltaics.

Among the conclusions reached, it is estimated that photovoltaic generation it's going to be multiplied by ten And this will represent ten percent of the total energy generation in the world by the year 2030, with 100 million small producers, and 50 percent in the year 2050 thanks to what would be self-consumption with storage.

Other relevant data taken from these sessions is that Spain spends a day about 158 million euros in importing fossil fuels to generate energy that could be obtained from the soy and the wind. The gains would be a lot, but a huge investment is required.

Clean energy sources are the only ones that would allow to lay the foundations for a new efficient and sustainable energy model, both economically and environmentally. Before we have mentioned how Spain spends more than 158 million euros a day, an annual bill that reaches up to 45.000 million euros.

In total, in that supposed year 2030, a family could save an average of 406 euros per year with a system based on renewable energies as highlighted by a study by Greenpeace.

Teresa Rivera, director of the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI) in Paris, has assured that «it's necessary that an energy transition occurs who governs in Spain governs and whatever happens in this country«. Something that Yes, Uruguay has achieved with a renewable energy policy that has the objective set in the year 2030 and that whoever governs will not change.

It was also recalled that in New York City already there are 150.000 self-consumption facilities and in Australia, for the next 10 years, 50% of households will have self-consumption with storage.

Teresa Rivera reminds us: «More than 9.000 million people Everyone in the world cannot continue to live in a model that is not viable. Betting on change is a must. The temperature of the planet should not increase more than 2 degrees and with the current pollution scenario it is considered to be 2,7 degrees.«
