Nissan LEAF, an electric vehicle with 500 kilometers of autonomy for 2017

Nissan LEAF

We already commented at the time, earlier this year, as Nissan had partnered with NASA to develop self-driving cars and they are emission free.

Today is the time for another emission-free car news with a Nissan LEAF arriving in 2017 and featuring a range of 500 kilometers. With this, the company wants to make LEAF one of the main players in the electric car market.

The next generation of the LEAF will be based on a more conventional design than the current one. Regarding that autonomy of 500 kilometers, which is what stands out the most about this car, it is due to the second generation of batteries. Some new ones that will arrive at the same time as the launch of this new LEAF that will take place at the beginning of 2017.

Reaching those 500 kilometers of autonomy, a brand that manufacturers such as Tesla and Audi have reached, is not a technical problem, but rather one of cost. So a reduction in the price and in the increase of the battery will coincide with this new bet by Nissan for the LEAF.

Another of the highlights of this car is its more conventional design as I have said and that commitment to go on par when it comes to design that we see in the multitude of cars that swarm the roads of our country. We have already seen how many electric vehicles come with futuristic designs that make it more difficult for us to think about their implementation on our roads in these coming years.

So the LEAF could be one of the most interesting in this regard and thus provide the customer with a car that has a great autonomy and is not that vehicle that catches the eyes of any pedestrian who passes by on the street and sees him pass in front of him.

Good, we can travel 250 km away (you have to go back, nice guys, and you don't have to recharge halfway).

Is it that you cannot travel by motorcycle, which in most cases does not reach 300 km of autonomy? Let's see if the price of electric vehicles is "democratizing". At the moment Tesla, it's just a fad for the rich.

You can travel by motorcycle, since you can stop at any gas station and in 5 minutes you have a full tank again. Do you think it is feasible to travel in a car and start looking for a place to charge the car and wait a couple of hours to continue your trip?

Obviously an electric is not valid for long trips, it is designed to be used on short trips and in the city. For the 4 times you make a long trip, you rent a car as big as you need.

Of course you can travel by motorcycle and fill up the tank when you seat while there is dinosaur debris available. When we have burned everything and there is nothing left, it will be a lot of fun.

Induction charging, batteries of other materials that charge faster, with more autonomy batteries will require fewer charges
More competitive prices will sell more
