Europe condemns France for its nitrate-polluted waters

 Nitrates

France, with great problems of pollution agricultural that pollutes its rivers, has just been condemned by the Council of Justice of the Union European (CJUE). This decision is a prelude to a possible fine of several tens of millions of euros.

This is an old matter here with nitrates and the inability of Paris to adapt to a European directive dating from 1991. This dispute is based precisely on the underestimation of the "Vulnerable areas" that it would be necessary to protect in an imperative way, or in other words, in the lack of authority of the State to enforce the waste containing nitrates, and which currently exceed the 50 milligrams per liter.

La ECJ prepares a second call to order that should denounce by the end of 2013 the fragility programs to correct the situation in those same areas.
