The company that produces Mahou beer has established an agreement with Endesa to supply clean energy from renewable sources and high-efficiency cogeneration.
According to estimates, the beer by the use of renewable energy will be able to avoid reducing 40.000 tons of CO2 per year to the atmosphere.
Endesa will provide clean energy to the 7 beer production centers but also at the headquarters of the Solan de Cabras, Natura and Sierras de Jaén water bottling plants. A total of 11 plants will be supplied by renewable energy.
This company needs approximately 126,6 GW / hour per year for its operations, so Endesa must provide it with this amount to continue with its normal activities.
Mahou is committed to the environment and sustainability since it managed to reduce its emissions by 52%, and in 2010 it increased its beer production by 38%.
