Coca Cola will use solar energy at its plant in South Africa

The most famous beverage company in the world Coca-Cola announced that at its water bottling plant in Heidelberg in South Africa solar energy will be installed.

The IBC Solar company will be in charge of installing the photovoltaic panels. The power that this system will have is 30 kilowatts so it will be able to generate 50.000 kw / h per year.

132 will be placed solar modules and two investors will also have remote monitoring to evaluate how it works and if a technical problem arises.

With this photovoltaic installation it will be possible to reduce 29,5 tons of CO2 per year, in addition to reducing dependence on the local electricity grid. Which is not a minor issue since there are many regions of this country that do not have electricity so the electricity it's expensive.

For the company it is cheaper and safer in South Africa the solar energy than the conventional electrical network.

This African country has an enormous capacity to generate energy through solar fountain since the radiation that arrives annually only in Johannesburg is 2000 kilowatt hours per square meter.

Which is really very positive since it is a really abundant resource that should be used to the maximum.

Companies and individuals should use this source of energy to supply their electricity needs, which will improve the economic development of the country, the quality of life of the population and reduce environmental pollution from the energy sector.

It is important that a company as important as Coca Cola carries out this type of project since it will help to promote the use of clean energy and especially solar energy.

Solar energy is a great solution to some of the economic and social problems of the African continent, but international help is required to be able to access this type of technology.
