Canadian jewelry produces wedding bands with eco-friendly diamonds

Ecological ring of brilliants

For couples committed to the environment and human rights, Canadian Eric Groosberg, has founded a company to offer ecological alternatives of engagement rings and wedding bands, very conducive to this spring and summer season when this ceremony abounds.

It all started when he found himself in the position of choosing a wedding band for his fiancée, Beth, but he wanted it to be a piece that was not linked to social or ecological conflicts, like those of the diamond mining in Sierra Leone, Angola and Liberia, countries involved in smuggling and armed conflicts, as well as the exploitation of workers with inhumane working conditions.

Knowing these realities, they decided to create Brilliant Earth, a jewelry store that produces and sells eco-friendly wedding and engagement rings at the same cost as traditional rings.

The jewelry is sourced from diamonds mined in Canadian mines in which they follow standards without affecting the the environment and respecting the human rights and that, at the same time, guarantee a result of optimum quality. The diamonds are manufactured in the company's laboratories while still having the characteristic beauty of the original diamond.

The diamonds are embedded in metals such as gold and platinum, but in the case of Brilliant Earth, only recycled metals are used, since these can be recycled several times without losing their quality. The idea of its founders is to increase the jewelry market more committed to the conservation of natural resources and biodiversity worldwide.

They also produce gold rings with sapphires and other jewelry of their own to give as gifts.
