Solar houses, the houses of the future

Have you ever thought of solar houses as the houses of the future? Are you one of those people who enjoy a caravan on weekends?

You no longer have to imagine anything else because Prodengin, an Australian company, has launched the first extendable solar house called Seed. Solar houses are here. They have the advantage of an expandable system that has all the benefits of a small house but that expands in seconds, plus it is fully accessible including wheelchair access.

The thing is not here and it is that they did not want only a dry house but with a energy-efficient or practically self-sufficient home.

Progendin has incorporated into this project solar for electricity generation up to 8KW, being able to choose the size of the battery.

In addition, it has a water catchment system and with windows with 360 degrees of vision to contribute as much as possible to the environment and facilitate a sustainable life. All you need is an organic garden in your yard!

At 2,5 meters high and 6 meters wide, it provides more than enough space to live comfortably while you travel the world to places where you often cannot go or where the electricity grid does not reach.

Better yet, think about the multiple uses that can be given to this type of house and I do not mean only to have them as a permanent residence or as a seasonal residence but as Refugee accommodation, emergency services, as a workplace away from the big city (for a writer or artist it can come in handy) or even for markets or recreational areas such as fairs.

All these uses in the blink of an eye due to the ease of transport it has and the self-sufficiency allowed.

But let's not focus only on this house, there are many new models of these solar houses like Blue Homes which in this case are still deployable but modular (prefabricated) and is that the advantages of these solar houses can be varied such as the quality control that is had at all times by different specialists and can be adjusted more easily to short production times , on the other hand we also have the characteristics of a sustainable construction as many of the materials used for its construction come from recycled materials to which they then add the galvanized steel substructure (which will form enclosures, partitions, and ceilings).

To this we add bamboo floors, high-efficiency air conditioning, low water consumption using their water consumption systems as well as not forgetting about the installation of solar panels, the recovery of rainwater and the extension of the house with landscaped deck to provide us with some food while contributing to CO2 retention.

The disadvantage of this type of solar houses compared to the previous ones is mainly transportation, for this reason they should not exceed maximum measurements (4,9 meters wide by 18,9 meters long) and of course the assembly, since they divide the house in panels so that the transfer is cheaper and more compact.

For this reason, you have to be very clear about where you want to reside, with the previous houses you only have as limitations those that are had as a vehicle called as "mobile home" since in the end they are just that.

Why am I saying this? For the simple reason that transportation and assembly  of these second solar houses they are very expensive, they need special permits and even escorts so without a doubt very few companies in Spain are dedicated to this type of transport.

From what you see, this type of solar house, whether modular or mobile, presents a great series of advantages as well as drawbacks but without a doubt as a drawback I am left with the price, and not only because of the transport of the modular house, as there is not so much Awareness in Spain is beginning to be seen, there is still no proper market line and this means that their prices are high, being able to easily reach over 79.000 euros in modular homes without counting transport or assembly and about 300.000 euros for them. mobiles.
