Ranking of the most environmentally friendly technology companies

Since some years Greenpeace carries out a report where it evaluates the environmental behavior of technology companies.

In this year 2010 the ranking is headed as the most environmentally friendly company is Nokia and Sony Ericsson in second place.

Then there are Philips in third place, Hewlett-Packard in fourth place, Samsung in fifth, Motorola in sixth place, Panasonic in seventh, Sony in eighth, Apple in ninth place and Dell in tenth place.

The companies that obtained the lowest score on this list were Toshiba, Microsoft and Nintendo, which is why they are the ones that produce the least environmentally friendly technological products.

In order to carry out this ranking, Greenpeace uses criteria such as the use of dangerous substances in its products, the possibility of recycling and recovering the materials that make up the equipment. In addition to the actions that companies take to reduce emissions in their operations and processes and thus collaborate in the fight against climate change.

This type of ranking helps consumers to choose more eco-friendly products. the environment with serious criteria and not believing the companies that advertise a product.

At the same time, it challenges companies to strive to improve their products, processes and designs so that the models of each equipment are more environmentally friendly.

It is possible to manufacture less aggressive or polluting technology, but companies still value its costs more than its environmental consequences. Each company must consider actions so that the life cycle of the product is as less harmful as possible.

Tech companies have a environmental impact getting bigger due to the growing demand for electronic products around the world.

Technological garbage is growing exponentially and measures are not being taken to prevent the situation from worsening.

It takes the commitment of the entire technological industry to improve the global environmental situation.
