They generate renewable energy with a mobile unit called Aurora

Complete assembly of the mobile unit

The advancement of technology that can lead to renewable energies where it is more difficult to connect to the grid as isolated places, is called Aurora, or rather it is the acronym for Automated and Self-deployable Mobile Unit for Generation of Clean Energy.

Aurora will illuminate in such dark moments as a natural or humanitarian disaster in which, in most cases, the lack of electricity makes rescue activities difficult. These are the main uses that Aurora has, although they are not all, with the that this pioneering device has been created that, with its first prototype, it is capable of incorporating almost a hundred photovoltaic panels as well as an 18-meter robotic arm.

Materials and labor

This robotic arm will be the one that will deploy the panels and that at the same time makes mast for a wind turbine, with which, in less than 5 hours, the installation will be completely finished and will start generating wind and solar power.

With all this added (photovoltaic panels and wind turbine) installed power capacity is around 32 KWp, something that is not bad at all to be a prototype of an Automated and Self-deploying Mobile Unit for Generation of Clean Energy.

These materials for power generation are organized in a 40ft standard size container, which is why transport comes into play here, it can be transported anywhere in the world in conventional freight transport systems.

Likewise, the labor for its installation and commissioning is minimal and it allows to control its operation from any location since this mobile unit of renewable energies it is monitored remotely.

Aurora Advantages

These are not the only advantages that Aurora has, since with all its operation the remarkable waste from this unit is only water vapor, which makes it a magnificent alternative to replace the generator sets that are usually used today.

These generators, on the one hand, turn out to be very expensive in addition to polluting, and on the other hand, and at times, they are not very operational for supplying field hospitals, aid camps in humanitarian crises or other similar facilities.

Aurora, acronym also chosen by the Roman goddess of dawn

It has been equipped with gel batteries to store energy and to ensure there are no power outages.

Aurora Container and Panels

A second container

In the same way and if you want, this unit can also be reinforced with a second container, in this case it will be smaller (about 20 feet), which would have a additional cell for hydrogen generation and storage through an electrolyzer that also generates oxygen.

The project

The highly entrepreneurial and excellent project is driven by University of Huelva together with a consortium of Spanish companies; Ariema Enerxia, Kemtecnia and Sacyr.

All of them cooperate to be able to manufacture this mobile unit that is financed through the program Feder Interconnects.

As you can see, thanks to these splendid ideas and the hard work of capable people, Aurora has borne fruit, since this prototype has an installed power of just over 32KWp of completely renewable energy.

One more step

Although they do not want to stop here, from the consortium, the objective they are aiming at is to be able to continue advancing to commercialize mobile units for the generation of renewable energies with greater power.

Incorporating 5 or more wind turbines and even 120 solar panels.

From RenovablesVerdes queremos agradecer a todas esas personas que apuestan por un mundo sostenible en el que las energías renovables son la respuesta segura.

These ideas that are turned into projects and later into prototypes that really work until they are commercialized, whether they are huge wind turbines to install them in the middle of the sea where nobody sees them, or small solar lamps capable of lighting a light bulb in our garden, are really the main axis towards change and a much more efficient future.
