Solar energy is increasingly promoted by companies and projects that try to make this energy something more developed. One of the companies that bets on solar energy is Dhamma energy. The Dhamma Energy group develops, builds and operates solar power plants.

In this article we are going to tell you about the history of Dhamma energy, the most important projects and how it works.

The beginning

Dhamma Energy's operations in France and Spain were acquired in October 2021 by Eni gas e luce, a 100% subsidiary of Eni SpA. Dhamma Energy currently has a 120 MWp solar power plant in France.

Dhamma Energy started operations in France and Spain more than a decade ago, where it developed its first solar projects. Subsequently, Dhamma Energy increased its activities in France, where it built its first own solar park.

In 2013, Dhamma Energy opened a subsidiary in Mexico, which has developed a 470 MWp solar power plant and currently has a portfolio of 2 GWp. Meanwhile, the group is working on its first photovoltaic project in Africa, a 2 MWp solar park in Mauritius, which opened in 2015.

To date, Dhamma Energy has completed the development of 650 MW of photovoltaic power plants, located mainly in Mexico, France and Africa. Dhamma Energy currently has a 2 GWp pipeline in operation in Mexico. The Dhamma Energy team is made up of project managers, engineers and technical specialists in the photovoltaic sector.

Dhamma energy projects

Over the years, with the experience they have gained, they have become an independent leader in the development of photovoltaic power plants and solar energy production. As developers, builders, operators and investors of photovoltaic plants, they cover the entire life cycle of the project: from the search for the land to the maintenance and management of the photovoltaic park.

The team covers all stages of solar PV project development, including feasibility studies, topographical surveys, environmental studies, site evaluations, installation concepts, technical evaluations, policy analysis and regulation, financial feasibility, establishment of power purchase (PPA).

Dhamma Energy cooperates with the main international suppliers (photovoltaic modules, inverters, storage systems). One of the fields of activity of Dhamma Energy is the construction management of photovoltaic projects. Dhamma Energy also accompanies its investment partners until the start-up phase of the project.

Work with specialists and installers who have extensive experience in the field. Dhamma Energy has successfully developed and built rooftop and ground solar projects currently in operation.

Structure and financing of Dhamma energy

One of the key phases of the project is structuring and financing. At this solar power company, they have the experience, knowledge and skills to secure financing and secure the successful financing of medium and large solar power plants under different regulations. His experience covers equity financing as well as long-term debt deals with commercial banks and multilateral organizations.

They are involved in the entire life cycle of the project and supervise the start-up of solar power plants and once they reach the commercialization stage, they develop and operate these projects. Solar energy production is part of the business.

They currently have a range of solar power plants in operation, including medium and large ground-mounted plants, as well as rooftop plants, located mainly in France.

Hydrogen distribution in Spain

The distribution of green hydrogen in European projects will begin in Spain with the participation of Enagás, Naturgy and Dhamma Energy. The HyDeal Ambition project aims to develop a European distribution chain for green hydrogen at competitive prices in Spain, where electricity generation will begin next year, with a target of 10 megawatts per year.

The origin of this renewable energy source is the production of green hydrogen through solar electrolysis, through which competitive prices can be achieved through the program, which will take its first steps in 2022 and aims to reach 85 GW. of solar capacity and the 67 GW of solar power. watts of electrolytic power generation in 2030.

This represents 3,6 million tons of green hydrogen per year, equivalent to two months of oil consumption in Spain, which will be distributed through the natural gas storage and transportation networks of the companies participating in the initiative. The price to the customer is estimated at 1,5 EUR/kg, which is comparable to the current price of fossil fuels but, in return, does not generate pollution.

In addition to the three Spanish companies Enegás, Naturgy and Dhamma Energy, other large companies from other parts of Europe are also participating, such as Falck Renewables (Italy), Gazel Energie (France), GTTGaz (France), HDF Energie (France), Hydrogen de France , McPhy Energy (France), OGE (Germany), Qair (France), Snam (Italy), Teréga (France), Vinci Construction (France)… up to 30 participating companies. These are companies from various sectors such as solar development, the manufacture of electrolysis equipment, engineering, as well as infrastructure funds and consultants.

Dhamma energy and its constructions

This year 2021 in the month of May, Dhamma energy requested an authorization for the electrical installation of a high voltage plant called "Cerrillares I photovoltaic solar plant". The development of the project, which will be located between the municipalities of Jumilla and Yecla, represents an estimated investment of 30 million euros, of which 28 million euros correspond to the low-voltage electrical installation of the photovoltaic solar plant on the ground, followed horizontally along one axis.

On the other hand, 1 million euros will be invested in external transmission lines to evacuate the energy generated (12.617 meters long) and 742.000 euros in substations. The solar park will occupy a total of 95 hectares and, once operational, it will generate 97,5 GWh of electricity per year. This production is equivalent to the consumption of about 30.000 households.

I hope that with this information you can learn more about Dhamma energy and its projects.
