Bioplastics to manufacture ecological appliances

Plastics that are manufactured on the basis of oil they are highly polluting and difficult to degrade. Before the oil shortage plastics are already being developed based on other more natural products that are biodegradable so that its environmental impact is not so negative.

The Technological Institute of Plastics (AIMPLAS) is developing the European project Biostructure to make bioplastics based on materials such as wood, cellulose and other natural resources that are 100% renewable.

22 partners participate in the Biostruc, that is, companies from 10 different countries and have a subsidy from the European community since the results of these investigations and developments for the industry and the environment are of great interest.

The idea is that bioplastics replace oil and that it be able to continue to have the same applications in various industries such as construction, automotive, electronics, packaging, home appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines and all the rest of the white line as well as other types of products.

Being also one of the main objectives to design and manufacture home appliances ecological with these bioplastics and in this way eliminate the materials that are currently used that are mostly not sustainable and damage the environment.

These bioplastics should allow save energy when used as well as reducing CO2 emissions and of course totally degrade to be truly ecological.

Currently household appliances are not very friendly to the environment, only some brands have some products with better environmental qualities but they are the minority.

Surely in a few years most appliances will be manufactured with ecological plastics and its environmental impact will be very low.

Until these types of totally ecological products become a reality, we as consumers must today choose the products that have the best environmental performance.
