Biogas systems based on pig excrement in Argentina

In the town of Hernando in the province of Cordova started working the first biogas system not only from Argentina but from the rest of South America based on pig excrement.

This type of system is already used in Europe and the United States, but in other countries it is still very new and little known.

In the pig farm, biogas is produced with a system made up of microturbines that are installed individually as they produce energy and then the surplus goes to the public network, which in this town is a cooperative.

With this system, electricity, gas and organic fertilizers all from pig excrement.

The operation is quite simple, the organic waste generated by pigs is taken to a pool where it is degraded by bacteria, which is why biogas is produced, then it is sent to a small plant to later be distributed through pipes or to generate electricity with the microturbine.

This technology is simple, it can be controlled remotely over the internet or satellite, it has high thermal efficiency, it allows cogeneration and even trigeneration to be carried out with the same equipment.

It can be used in all types of buildings and agricultural or livestock facilities, what will change is the origin of the organic material.

The use of micro-turbines fired with network gas is an alternative to face the shortage and the high price of electricity that affects the whole world.

Hopefully other establishments and companies take into account this system of biogas since it is very efficient, economical to install and gives excellent economic and environmental results.

Using clean energy is an increasingly accessible option as there are different technologies, equipment and systems for every need and budget.

The use of biogas should continue to grow around the world because it is a great source of clean energy.
