South Africa and its potential in solar energy

South Africa is one of the African countries with the greatest potential in solar energy. This nation is estimated to have 2500 hours a year of solar radiation. This amount of hours is repeated year after year, it is constant so it is possible to predict and trust this renewable energy source.

Solar energy can be an important pillar for generating clean electricity in South Africa. It is also economically viable since there are areas that are not used for other purposes that are ideal for the construction of photovoltaic solar power plants.

Currently 90% of the energy produced in South Africa is through carbon so the level of contamination that is generated is high.

About 369 million tons of CO2 a year I generate this country with the use of coal as the main source of energy.

On the continent, it is the largest emitter of C02 and is ranked 16th worldwide.

Solar energy could produce the same amount of electricity as coal but at a lower cost and lower environmental impact.

African countries have serious problems of lack and shortage of electricity but also use the oil, carbon, gas among others, much of which they must import.

Starting to use the natural resources you have and exploiting renewable energy is the best policy you can implement.

The South African economy will benefit from the change in energy sources that will not only increase the amount of electricity but it could even export energy to other countries.

In addition, the population will improve the quality of life by accessing energy that today does not have this vital service for any family or community.

Investing in solar energy will benefit South Africa and help it significantly reduce the amount of pollution it produces per year.
