Murcia increases energy efficiency and renewable energies

In order to increase the generation capacity of renewable energies, governments give financial aid that facilitates the initial investment costs. In this case, the Ministry of Employment, Universities and Business of the Government of Murcia that will begin to grant aid of three and a half million euros to all savings, energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

The goal is to increase renewable energy throughout the area and promote self-consumption. One in three projects that have been subsidized with the aid are for self-consumption.

Specifically, counseling intends to allocate 1.993.884 euros to 60 companies on the condition that they use that money for self-consumption, improvement in energy efficiency and increase in renewable energy sources.

Last year there were 14 beneficiary self-consumption projects and the total of Murcian subsidies for self-consumption stood at 900.439 euros.

Breaking down the companies that benefit from the aid we have: 129.123 euros to 46 companies to carry out energy audits; 1.207.759 euros to 67 to renew teams; 206.689 euros to 10, to improve the efficiency of production processes, and almost two million euros the generation and self-consumption of final energy with renewable sources.

Of course, the increase in energy efficiency and the presence of renewable energies It has an impact on energy savings and greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change. In this case, the execution of the projects that improve energy efficiency carried out thanks to these grants will mean a saving of 91.063 megawatt hours. In addition, it will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 10.411 tons of CO2.

This is only taking into account energy efficiency improvement projects. If we count the projects that include renewable energies, we will have a CO2 reduction of 35.350 tons per year, thanks to the fact that 5.20 megawatts can be installed.
