France has presented a plan whose objective is to simplify all administrative procedures and accelerate the development of all wind energy projects to increase its clean energy generation from this sector to double by 2023.

Do you want to know how they intend to carry it out?

Increase the flora of wind energy

The objective of the plan presented by France is to produce up to 26.000 MW of wind energy by 2023. Today there are 13.700 MW. With the reforms that are expected to be implemented in the plan, they can cut by up to half the time needed for wind energy projects to be completed and connected to the electricity grid.

The average time that elapses between when a wind energy project is built until it starts operating usually takes between seven and nine years. Compared to Germany, projects only take three to four years.

Administrative problems and bureaucracy

The time that elapses between the creation of the project and its operation is conditional when establishing the most important aspects. The groups present appeals against the wind projects in the courts for noise issues and landscape impact, mainly. Once the collectives file the appeals It takes years to analyze cases and projects are delayed.

Therefore, what is intended to achieve with this plan is to reduce this analysis time, so that the appeals can be resolved directly during the appellate courts.

Among other proposed proposals is to modify the distribution of tax benefits, increasing it to those areas that host wind mills. This measure has been especially applauded by the Federation of Communities that manage the public services of Energy and Water (FNNCR).

From now on, those areas where more wind energy is installed will benefit the most economically.
